a dilemma

I don't know what to do.

I've been learning about the life, writings, and philosophies of Allen Ginsberg. I very much want to buy and read his epic poem, Howl.

But in the course of learning about Ginsberg's life, I've discovered that I probably won't agree with many of Ginsberg's views put forward in the poem. The literature, while valuable for its style and place in history, is likely to be an affront to my sensibilities.

I am probably going to read it.

You don't have to agree with his views to find the reading valuable. Perhaps his writing will deepen your own convictions or open your mind to something new. Perhaps it will simply help you develop deeper tolerance for those that have beliefs different from your own. OR, maybe it will just drive you NUTS! Let us know what the outcome is!
