And my vote goes to . . .

Cheeth linked to a fantastic website from his blog - VAJoe.com. At this site you can rate your own political opinions across a wide array of issues, while also ranking the relative importance of those issues to you. The site tallies your totals and then compares them to the political stances of every Republican and Democrat running for president in 2008. It lists the "Top Match" candidates with whom your political leanings are most closely tied and also provides a ranking of the candidates all the way down to the bottom. It's a very useful exercise in determining which candidate you should support based on your own beliefs on the issues, rather than the campaigning that goes on in the media.

I was very glad, and a little relieved, to learn that the candidate who I have been leaning towards supporting turned out to be the candidate with whom my political views are most closely associated.

Turns out my leanings are almost exactly the same as yours. My "top match" was Ron Powlus, former Notre Dame QB bust.

(early 90's catchphrase) - NOT!
(late 80's catchphrase)- PSYCH!

Sorry Cheeth, mine is no political blog. You'll have to live with the mystery of it all.

90's taunt: FACE!

I well understand your avoidance of politics. You see the world well, even through your discount glasses.

That was pretty enlightening to go through all the issues and realize how many of them had me sitting on the fence. It is a great way to begin the process of becoming informed on not only the issues, but the candidates. Turns out, I was matched up with someone I hardly know anything about! Looks like I have some work to do before the polls open!

I'm so glad I'm staying at your house so I know who it was- otherwise it would drive me crazy.
